ZIGGY SAID NO TO THE 2012 OLYMPICS CLOSING

The 2012 Olympics in London featured opening and closing acts which featured rock royalty. Sir Paul, the music of John Lennon and Pink Floyd, and The Who closing. British athletes won many medals and made them the new heroes of the empire. The Guardian  reported that The Rolling Stones, Kate Bush and many others declined to perform for the event. David Bowie was asked to perform "Heroes".
